Hi,

Tray 1 will pull a bunch of sheets in at once (took the 8 I placed there)
and pass them in unison through the mechanism.

I see no adjustments for paper separator and am lost as to how to remedy
this problem and have it take one at a time.

Appreciate any words of wisdom here.

Thanks

There is a seperator pad for tray one, the manual feed, ie the tray
that folds down from the front of the printer.

If it is feeding from one of the paper trays, the seperator roller is
missing ot the clutch is missing or broken.

Thanks Paul.

I thought it looked healthy and was not functioning for some other reason.
Printer is new to me so I do not know what normal operation is like.
Service manual has no operational description for its operation.

Is it just a stationary pad (as it seems) ??

The input feed roller is quite powerful and the tray lifts up at the
roller to facilitate feed. The pad just remains motionless.

Was this intended to stop all but one sheet??

Tray 1 (manual) Gordon,

Apparently a common problem. The service manual says nothing about it. I
did find a replacement part on the net. Just have to get back to the
folks I bought this from and see what they want to do (warranty).

I was really shocked when the whole (little) pile of paper went in.

Thanks to all for the advice
