Laserjet 3500 fails under normal user

I have one machine where no matter how many times I install/uninstall the
driver for the LaserJet3500, it will fail to print a test page unless the
user is an administrator.

Any ideas?

XP Home or Pro.... where is the printer (attached to the PC or on a
network)... and which firewall/internet security application(s) are
installed.

XP Pro, on the network, firewall should not be an issue. Works as admin,
not as user.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Shane

A Norton product on the PC will stop Users being able to print, although
Admin will have no problems. Solution.... use another product or set the
printer to print direct rather than use the spooler.

They are also known as Symantec. Some folks have also reported the same
problem with McAfee.

There is no Norton product on the machine. Also the machine used to work
with this model printer. That model went bad, we temporarliy installed a
different kind and then bought a new one like the original. Since that time
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the printer various times and it just
won't work for this user. It works if I make him an administrator, though.
