I just got a all-in one printer, and everything installed and is working
fine. However, when I installed SP2 it found a file and asked me if I wanted
to allow it access to the INET. The file is javaw.exe. This file was not on
my PC until I installed the printer. I occassionally have to run anothr
program called Questionmark Secure, and it will not load because of this same
file. I know that the file is saved in the HP file, and was not there before
I installed the new printer; so logically I think it has something to do with
the printer. Does anyone know what it is? How to deal with it? Any advice
appreciated.

If legitimate, the file you cite, javaw.exe, is the core Java machine
executable file. It is from Sun Microsystems. You can try navigating to
Control Panel Install/remove programs and see if the Sun Java machine
is listed.

You can try removing the Java virtual machine. However, certain browser
function required by some web sites will not work.

I would check the properties of the file to verify its source and then,
if OK, allow it access to the net.

Sun Java

You could remove this and install the Microsoft Java implementation. I
cannot say if that would resolve the problem you describe.
