Subject says it all I guess. WindowsXP sensed it & install the
drivers. Print jobs leave the Windows queue, but don't print.

All three front panel lights are on solid.
small top left = green
small bottom left = amber
big right = green

Pressing the big button will cause it to go out, but comes back on
when I let go.

Maybe your prints are still in the queue. Start | Settings | Printer,
then select your LJ1200.

Does the printer print the test page? Does it have toner? Paper? If
your printer is connected by USB, is the port DOS4-00X, where X is the
port number?

Get the latest driver from HP - should work better than XP's. And HP has
a communications patch.

from the sound , the printer may be in "Manual input mode" OR you may
have a door opened slightly or something.
Has the printer ever worked? Can you print by hitting the "go"
button? as asked b4 .... does it do the Engine test page? If it has
never worked yet ( i.e. new), it may be there is a piece of paking
tape or something still left on.
