Thanks! Larry for your help. I have been running McAfee &
Zone Alarm Pro together for about 6 mos. I have really had
no problems with it. Which one do you think I should keep?
McAfee or ZoneAlarm Pro? I will disable one & see what
happens. But my question is: In my Security Event Log (Win
XP) I have some security issues. It seems like someone is
trying to change my password, log on/off, etc... It is a
"Success Audit" so I am concerned. There are different Log
on names like RASMAN, DCROME, etc... And it happens when my
computer is shut down also. Why would someone want to
change this? The "Sucess Audit" says notify these people of
the changes. Who are they? This is my personal computer and
no one uses it except me. Thanks, Larry. Am I tall, blonde
& stupid? Just kidding. Thanks again

Well, I have used Zone Alarm Pro for several years now
and have had no issues at all. I have read numerous
reviews that rate this software firewall as #1 for
home/small office use. I have not used McCaffee, so I
really cannot give feedback on it. I would (if I were
you) decide on a firewall product, then completely remove
the other(s), do the same with multiple antivirus and pop
up blockers. Also make sure the Windows XP built in
firewall is not turned on as well (this is not turned on
by default, so unless you turned it on it should be off).
Zone Alarm packages come with a free trial and unless you
have paid for a user license, your not getting the
updates that come out every month, more or less. Once you
get one firewall program running, updates and configured
correctly, that should be your source for viewing any
possible attempts to "hack" or "intrude" your system.
Also make sure all your Windows Critical updates have
been downloaded and installed as these are important to
patch any holes in security. Good Luck and i'll keep an
eye for any future post from you if you have questions.

Larry
