larger scanner?

Does anyone make a flatbed scanner with a bigger than normal scan area,
ie 12 by 12 (for a record album), without spending $1000?
 
If no cheap big scanner, scan album cover in two images (half at a
time) and use phote editor to join them.

If you aren't going to do 1:1 reprints of the record album jacket, it may
be more practical to set up a copy stand and shoot them with film or a
digital camera, if you have one.
