i have a tashiba tecra 720cdt laptop and it's got a 2.5 hard drive in it, i
bought a 6.0 hard drive for it and it won't recognize the new hard drive, so
is thewre a setting in the hard drive i have to change or what needs to be
done,,,the hard drive is a 6.0 ibm and i have windows 98 on it,,

By 2.5 and 6.0, I'm assuming you mean size in GB (gigabytes).

When you say "not recognizing," do you mean that the system BIOS is not
seeing it? If so, it's possible that the notebook is old enough to not see
anything larger than the 2.5GB drive (this was also a limitation in MS-DOS).

To be bluntly honest, spending any amount of money on a laptop that old is a
waste (my opinion).
