Large websites - limits by FP?

FrontPage 2002, WinXP
I maintained a website in my computer and use a Hosting service for the site.
I publish using FP Publish only.
The web has over 137 pages. Folders on the Main Directory are: _private,
2downloads, images, media, photogallery, and rh-documents.
What are the limits within FP on the number of folders, files, etc. that a
web could have?
Recently, after publishing for over two hours (broadband connection), the
server had a timeout. It happened three times in three days.
Tech support indicated that I had too many files in the main directory. I
removed a number of files and finally I had a succesful publishing.
The Hosting server has no limits on time publishing.
What are the FP limits? Could I start segregating PDF-format files onto
another folder or as a sub-folder of rh-documents?
I will appreciate help.

There is no known limit on files and folders.
There is a size limit on the size of a file that will publish successfully.
Files over 1mb in size can cause problems.

Thanks for the information.
I was lucky with a .wmv file that was 51,970kb, another was 8,715kb. None
were removed from the last successful publishing.
It is good to know that FP does not have limits otherwise.

It is not only the # of files that affect publishing times
- it is also the size of the files

Unless the media file are changing frequently
If your host supports subwebs
- recommend moving all your media files to 1 folder
and converting that folder to a subweb
(which you can open and publish separately if a large media file does change)
