Do you have a question?

Perhaps you are concerned about overflowing the Integer data type?
Then use Long, which can grow to 2^32.

OK. You need to explain the problem a lot more.

Are you talking about Access or Excel? The reason that I ask is that most
versions of Excel (excluding Excel 2007) have trouble with that many records.
Access does not.

Sorry about the missing info, outdata is text file and is to be processed in a spreadsheet. I found out about the extended capacity in Excel 2007 and have applied for it from our IT service supplier (we work under a COE Common Operating Environment). We presently use Office 2003. I have seen Excel 2007 a few times and do not look forward to trying to findout where MS has placed things or how to get rid of the expanded menys and buttons. Does anyone think they are an improvement? I also looked at the Open Office spreadsheet but it had the 65k row limit. Are there other spreadsheet solutions other than MS that will work? I also found numerous csv splitter apps that will allow me to split up the text files to fit 65k spreasheets. A bit more work but is feasable. Any tips on this?
