I am creating a movie that is comprised of 120 still images. The dimension
of each image is3072 X 2048 at 72 DPI. So the total space required for just
the images is 400MB. When I pull the images into Windows Movie Maker and
save the video the size of the video is only 4MB. When i view the movie full
screen everything looks fine. I am afriad that when I go to project it
however the image qualty isn't going to be very good. How can 400MB turn
into 4MB without some data loss?

Video is 640x480 (or 740x480) typically depending on the profile you are
saving to - when you are viewing it on TV, that is what you need.

Think of your photos as HDTV resolution - regular video is not that high.
Also, video compresses very differently than pictures. This is way dumbed
down, but you get the idea.

see papajohn.org for some tips on what photographers do for projecting video
at higher resolutions - I think he has some special profiles worked out for
800x600 that some photographers are using with projectors and are happy with
the results.
