Large "Deleted" file when exporting Calendar

Just upgraded to Outlook 2003. I export and import Calendar, Contacts,
Notes, and Tasks to keep a home and work computer in sync. Each is exported
to/imported from a separate .pst file. The Calender file is huge, and seems
to contain large amounts of deleted entries. How do I get that portion of
the file to no longer be present so that I only export and import active
Calendar entries?

Never export or import. You lose data that way.

Remove the old items from the calendar before making the copy.

Is there another way to synchronize Outlook on two non-connected machines
that cannot run a mirror image of Outlook?
