large contact groups

I am working on setting up a contact group list for our local American Legion
and have over 100 members who wish to receive a daily email update from the
post. I seem to be having problems sending email to that large of a
group.....is there a maximum amount of emails windows will send to at one
time? Some of the email addresses are not valid which is causing some of my
problems, but before I go any further I need to know if the contact group
will have to be split, and how many address' can be used at one time with a
contact group? If there is a limit to the number of address' allowed in a
group, does anyone know how many it is?

I just created a test Contact Group with over 200 members and composed an
email to that group, so please tell us exactly at what point your efforts
fail.
What error messages (if any) do you receive when you try to send the email
to a large group, and at what point does the failure occur?
Have you contacted your ISP's technical support to see if they place a limit
on the number of addressees in a single message? They may well be imposing
the limit you are seeing as an anti-spammer measure.
 
I don't think there is a limit in WM groups....
But you better check with your ISP. Many have limits on the number of
recipients in an email message, or limits on how much email is sent daily.
 
Thanks for the tip. I have found that several names are no longer valid from
when they were first given to me, and then getting error
messages......several different, although one did pertain to too many
recipients, so it may well be adelphia. I will check with them next and see
if there is anything I can do as this is a daily email sent out to all of our
members just to keep them updated on things.
 
You will run into your ISP's limit. Your ISP may not ever tell you. Some
bounce those in excess of their limit. Further, if a number of them are AOL
users, they will soon shut down your IP address and shortly after Yahoo will
shut your IP address down.
 
as well as your isp having problems with that many in a group.
I find that with that large a group it is hard to manage it.
much prefer smaller numbers like 25 or so to make the groups easier to manage.

as you have found with the problem with invalid addresses.
