I have a few laptops that seem to lose their network connectivity when the
machiens "wake up". Doing an IPCONFIG /ALL shows everything OK, but you can
no longer ping the gateway. The user has to reboot to regain their
connectivity.

HELP!

Thanks
Carl

something to think about:
How long are they typically sleeping and how long is the
DHCP lease set to on your network?

As a shorter workaround, doing a ipconfig /release then
ipconfig /renew will probably restore them just like a
reboot will.. just alot faster.

This also happens with laptops that have static IP's
Any update from the laptop manufactuer? Perhaps this is an issue with
the perticular laptop? Just guessing....

Look at the advanced properties of your network adapter, you should find something like "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power". If you disable it, you shouldn't experience anymore this loss of connectivity.
