laptop upgrade

Ive upgraded the RAM from 128 to 384, and the available video memory from 8 to 32 meg, and see genuine improvement in overall performance but would like to finish off with a processoor upgrade.

My Fujitsu Siemens amilo d has a celeron 1100, could I upgrade to a pentium chip?. One mail order supplier said you cant upgrade laptop chips, but didnt sound convincing.

any thoughts?
 
there's no reason as far as i know that you can't upgrade your chip, you need to find wat your mobo can take.

if your going to upgrade your processor try and go for one that's twice as fast or there abouts, otherwise you won't notice too much of a difference.
