Hi

There is a way to disable the double click function to operate via the touch
pad and only allow the double click via the left "mouse" button.
I have done this before but forgotten how ?
Worst part is I even gave a post to help another with this prob and still
cant remember how to do it :)

Hi Quandary,

Most touchpads have an icon in the systray that you can right click on and
change the options, if not look in the control panel and see if their is an
associated icon to change the option.

I always turn mine off, as I hate the touchpad double touch option.

Kind Regards

This option is generally only available if you have the 'Synaptics' touchpad
driver installed. Unfortunately the Synaptics driver isn't exactly the most
bug-free piece of software I've ever encountered, and on my laptop I find it
causes more trouble than it cures.

-And yes, I too constantly swear at this behavior, especially when it
double-clicks in response to a page being scrolled twice in succession - How
_hard_ is it to press a button, that we have to have this infuriating silly
gimmick?

All I can say is I agree with you but believe me I have heard people say
they like the feature, if you can call it a feature !!!

The properties/options for the touchpad are usually accessible in Control Panel/Mouse properties.
