Hello Everyone:

I have a laptop and a desktop. Both are running Win 2K.

The laptop can see the desktop and go to the shared resources.

When I try getting access to the laptop it does not work. It says the
computer is not available.

I can ping each of the machines from each other. But when networking - it is
not working.

Please help.

A good starting point in such cases is to paste the contents
of c:\test.txt from each machine into your post. You can
generate it by typing this command at the Command Prompt:

ipconfig /all > c:\test.txt

Many times I've had to solve my own problems.

Thanks to anyone who thought to help.

The solution was Norton Antivirus was blocking all the messages going into
the computer. The system was picking it up as a worm and blocking it.

Problem solved.

Thanks again.
