Laptop thinks it is a notebook

My laptop has disabled the S-video output. When I
checked the settings, the menu showed only a notebook
instead of the LCD/Monitor/TV choices. It corrected
itself once, so that I could select the LCD and the TV.

There have been no software updates to cause this.

Can anyone help?

I had a system failure, which was detected and an error
message sent. This also happened on 7 Nov. Which is
probably what happened this time. I`ll continue to
blunder around until something major happens.
Anyway, it`s working for now. Thanks,Gary
