Laptop security/logon

I have a laptop that will be used by several users both on
the network and undocked, as well. We have a database
that is accessed via the network when docked and via a
local copy when undocked with changes then synchronized
later. What is the best configuration to enable both
environments for several users on this laptop. If they
logon with their domain accounts when undocked, of course,
they access their normal individual desktop environments,
but not being able to authenticate on the network, what
complications does that present in terms of file access,
etc.?
Thanks

It should "just work" as far as the authentication provided
that you allow cached logins so they can log in with their
domain credentials when in a disconnected situation.
