Laptop Screen Remains on in Vista

When I closed my laptop lid in XP, the screen would turn off. Now in Vista,
when I close the lid, I can still see the light of my screen. I have a Dell
Inspiron 600m with ATI Mobility 9000 graphics card. Thanks for the help.

Have you contacted Dell about Vista support on that model?
Have you installed Vista drivers?

Power management, most likely.

Have not contacted dell, but I just searched through this forum and it
looks
like a common problem. Would this be a issue with the video card or some
other attachement to the motherboard
