I was reading a few of the messages to see if there is one
similar to mine. There are a few and they have to do with
a power surge, reboot laptop, and not the expected
response. Can't start in safe mode or safe w/prompt or
normal. Last config I know won't work as the laptop had
been shut down. I too get a blue screen with an
undescernable message. All I see is something about
volume. Ordered the recovery disk and from what is written
won't do me any good. What vexes me is that I don't have
the XP disks as the laptop came from Compaq bundled w/XP
and all the other sundry items. I called Compaq and they
won't send the OS as they say it is registered to them. I
can't find on the Windows site how to get the OS. The XP
registration tag is on the laptop, shouldn't there be some
way I can have the OS, I paid for it.
