Hi everyone. After lots of research I'm down to a choice of two laptops.

1. TOSHIBA U300-13U -
Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T5250 (1.50 GHz, 667 MHz FSB, 2 MB Cache)

2. TOSHIBA SATE A210-198 -

AMD Turion 64 x2 Dual CoreProcessor model number TL60Processor speed 2.0 GHz
Processor bus 1600 MHzProcessor cache 1 MB

Sorry for the above layout, but is anyone able to tell me how much better the second model is than the first in terms of speed please. Would I notice the 0.5 difference in GHz when using the internet and downloading photos?

Thanks for any help and apologies if this seems like an obvious question.

The 'speed' of any system don't much matter with using the Internet and downloading photos, that is a matter of the ISP. ;)

Which one of the two offers better battery life? What's the screen like? What video card are they using? Do they come with 2Mb ram as std? What OS is on offer & will you get a 'proper' Windows CD? What's the price difference?

A PC will do all you need for a fraction of the price, with the exception of, it ain't that mobile.

oh, welcome to the forums. :thumb:

Would you be able to tell me what 'ISP' and 'OP' stand for please? (Can you tell I'm learning?!)

Also what is the spped important for on laptops (and pcs)?

Thanks for the welcome and your help!

Sorry, ISP = Internet Service Provider ... the people who supply you to the Internet. OS = Operating System. :thumb:

I'll take the second one, but only if you are giving it away ... oops, sorry, I don't like laptops. I think the second is the better value. ;)

Don't expect to get great gaming out of either.

Hope some of our more experienced Laptop owners pip in with some relevant useful information.
