laptop problem

I have bought a toshiba tecra a8 laptob but affter two months when I was
working with it a band appears at the bottom of the monitor . I install
windows xp again but I can't continue because of the band exists. now it is
returned to the sello for repair and they told me the lcd has damaged and it
must changed . I want to know what the problem really is ?

The LCD really is bad.

You damaged the LCD, and now a portion of the display does not operate.
Next time, treat your laptop with a little more respect and kindness.
