Laptop memory upgrade

Hello.

I have an acer aspire laptop which currently holds 2*512mb of memory. I
want to upgrade to 2gb if possible.

How would i go about this.

i can upto 4gb. Should i buy another 2*512mb, or does it make a
performance difference if i buy 4*1gb or 2*2gb.

To correct my above post, my laptop has 2 slots not 4.

To correct my above post, my laptop has 2 slots not 4.

You can fit 2 x 1 Gb and sell the 512s on Ebay, or exchange one of the
512s for a 1 or 2Gb. Task Manager will show the Peak memory use and give you
an idea how much physical RAM you need. Check the reading at the end of a
session.
