Can someone help me with my laptop from dell.

Dell Inspiron 1300

I think someone has just unplug it in standby mode without shutting down.

Now the power light keeps flashing, also the 3 lights on the top aswell.

Last time i fix this fine but nothing seen to work now.

I have press the power button but nothing.

Help please?

I'm Not Saying This Is The Answer But I've Got A Laptop With No Rechargable Battery...................at Times When I Turn It On The Light Comes On But It Does Nothing.so I Unplug It From The Wall Socket And Plug It Back In And It Goes.......

Done all that still stuck in stay by mode.

The power light is flashing and the 3 lights on the top.

is there anyway i can disconnect the video card without opening it.

Seems To Me That Particular Laptop Came With A Cpu That Clocks Faster Than The Motherboard Can Support.providing That The Cpu Has'nt Been Maxed Out I Would Say Flashing Green Light.....sounds Like Ram.the Video Card, can't Say For Sure But Is Most Likely Hardwired.
Please Note To All Readers:other Than Removing A Panel, taking A Laptop Apart Is A Job That Requires A Proper Bench And All The Nesessary Tools At Hand.a Number Of Things Could Go Wrong That Could Destroy Your Machine.
-did The Rechargable Battery Take A Charge?

Update info:

Rang dell today long wait say 40mins(Lucky i used saynoto0870).

Got some india woman on the phone who i could not understand one bit.

40 mins talking about stayby mode lock on a laptop.

you don,t have to know about laptop but this is video card fault.

The woman on the phone even said remove the dvd burner, Does she know the burner is lock inside the laptop.

Told her no way am removing the panel from the laptop.

Is it me or does dell have any clue about a pc or a laptop?

No company should ask you too open a laptop and gain acces to the motherboard.

After a 40mins wait the said:

Am getting a new mother board install from them for free inside my house.

Last night i e-mail dell before i rang today and got this e-mail from them.

Thank you for contacting Dell Hardware E-Support.

I understand the concern and I need you to perform a few simple troubleshooting
steps to isolate the root cause of the issue.

1. Please reinstall the updated Video Drivers from the below mentioned link:

http://support.euro.dell.com/support/downloads/download.aspx?c=uk&l=en&s=gen&releaseid=R128346&formatcnt=1&libid=0&fileid=170751

2. Restore Setup Defaults.

Follow the appropriate steps below for your system:

1. Restart your computer.
2. At the first text on the screen, or immediately after the Dell logo appears,
press the <F2> key every three seconds until the message Entering Setup appears.
3. When the System Setup screen appears, press the <F9> key.
4. Press the <Enter> key to confirm that you would like to load the defaults.
5. Press the <F10> key to save changes and exit.
Your computer restarts.

3. Flash the BIOS to the most current version available. Refer to the following
link to Flash the BIOS:

Did,nt my e-mail say it,s stuck in stay by mode and will not power up at all , or even come on.

So how the hell can enter the bios and even press F9?

So come on dell get some english working support guys there, and people who know what there talking about.

Its just a standard email that they send at the start - reply telling them you can't and why and it should start the ball rolling :thumb:

It's probably not much help, but depending on the laptop you may be able to take the drive out quite easily - quite a few dell laptops have a push button on the front of the drive that you just push in and the dvd drive will pop out completely :) I doubt this is the problem though, but just as a side note :thumb:

RE:Flash the BIOS

Does Flash The Bios Mean To Take The Motherboard Out Of The Case And Run Down The Street With It?lol
