Hi,
I am new to a laptop. It has no mouse of course. So how to you
change the icons on the desktop without the right click method?
It s a toshiba with windows xp home edition.I do not have a manual -
I purchased it from a freind.
Thanks in advance.

Go to the manufacturer's web site and look for a manual or help information.

Of course? You can connect a mouse to a laptop just as you can to a desktop.
I dislike the touchpads that are built into laptops, and *always* use a
mouse on mine.

I don't know your Toshiba., but most laptops have a touchpad with two
buuttons beneath it. The one on the right works for right-clicking.

Hi,
The mouse that is built into the keyboard is very hard to
use.Especially with big fingers!Hitting the wrong keys while trying to
use that little button.
Thanks for all the information.
Have a great Thanksgiving!

It's called a "touchpad," not a mouse. As I said, I don't like it either and
much prefer to use a mouse.

However, with practice it gets easier. I know several people who are very
comfortable using it.

Buy a mouse on eBay. They start as low as $1.00 and many sell for
under $10.00. I use a mouse for my laptop because that is what I am
used to and do not like the touchpad nor eraser head that some have.

You can buy a usb mouse if you prefer a mouse. Shouldn't be a
problem.

Yes, as I said a few lines below.
