Laptop HDD...possible failure

Ok my laptop is 2 months old and I think the Hitachi HDD in it is on the
way to failing. No bad sectors and smart status is all OK, but having
had a number of HDD failures in the past you get to know the signs. So
what I am wondering is can I just get Hitachi to swapout the faulty
drive(assuming a problem does present itself soon) rather than me having
to return the machine to the store I bought it at. As the laptop is no
longer available at the store as it was a one time deal kinda thing I
don't want to return it if I can avoid it as it will mean leaving it
with the shaved monkeys in the store. I am in the UK btw.

If it's a retail drive Hitachi may provide resolution but
I'd expect it's OEM, meaning only the laptop manufacturer
will replace it, unless the store warranty is still in
effect too, but being in the UK you should have additional
recourse. Still the "OEM" issue with the drive would apply
though.

You might ask the store if they'll just swap the drive
instead of leaving the laptop there, though you might need
qualify to them exactly why you feel it's failing, as "no
bad sectors and smart status is all OK" doesn't seem to be
in your favor, try running the Hitachi diagnostics on it and
(hope?) it'll show the problem.
