Any laptop gurus lurking here? Need a referral to a website that gives
detailed instructions on how to remove the optical drive from an Acer
Aspire 3002LCi. So far no success with Google.

If it's like most laptops, it should just slide out the side. There might
be a switch on the bottom to unlock it, possibly spring-loaded. You should
be able to just hold the switch and pull the drive out. But I haven't seen
that particular notebook, it might be a proprietary design. I hope

Some Aspire models use a locking screw underneath the keyboard. Other
than that I loosened all surrounding screws and began tugging. Nothing
moved. Decided it better to ask some questions before I snapped
something important.
