Can someone please advise me on how to remove a floppy drive from a
Satellite 1400 laptop.
I have to return it for replacement as it is faulty..
Many Thanks
John

If you have to ask, you have two choices...
find the maintenance manual for the model on the Internet,
or the best choice, take it to a real computer shop and have
them do it for you. Opening a laptop is not the same as
opening and working on a desktop. Amateurs will probably
destroy the first few laptops they open and try to put back
together.
You might even want to copy all your data and personal files
to another computer or external hard drive (a good backup
plan anyway) and then delete any data you don't want Toshiba
to see and send the whole laptop back for the repair. If
they break it you'll get a new computer.

You should be getting, or have gotten, the direction from where you are
getting the replacment unit. If not, look for the manual or on the web.

BTW: This is off topic since it is not even related to XP.
