I have a Sony Vaio laptop and never had a problem with the display changing
until I had to send it back for repair when it was 15 months old. They had to
replace some parts and sent it back; ever since I've had the display problem
after the computer awakes from sleep. Somehow I fixed it (I don't remember
what I did) and a few months later the hard drive died (related to what they
supposedly fixed first time but another story) so they had to reinstall Vista
Business. Now I'm having the same issue. I've tried to update drivers through
device manager but it says my display driver is up to date. Is there a known
issue with this? I did read some other posts but have not found a fix yet.
I've also looked online and see many people have a similar issue but I
haven't found the right "fix" yet. I did the appropriate windows updates when
I got it back from repair and wonder if it has something to do with that.
Help is appreciated!

PS. This ONLY happens on my laptop that runs Vista Business; my desktop is
XP and is fine.

The fact that your laptop has a problem and your desktop doesn't hardly
proves a Vista issue, but you should ask in a Vista discussion group, as
that is the OS in question. This group is for .NET software development
issues.

Try looking for groups that begin with:

microsoft.public.windows.vista
