laptop Copying Problems

I can copy a dvd movie on my laptop but it only plays on my laptop. Does not play on my Dvd Player. I am finishing disk so no more writing possiable. What Is wrong.

Frustrated............
 
If you are trying to play it on a Settop Box DVD Player, it has to be able
to play that type of media.
