I have a laptop computer, when switch on, the power light turns on for 2
seconds and the screen flick for a moment.
Then it is turned off, not even able to see the BIOS POST Test screen.

I have tried with battery or AC power, still the same results.

Which part could be wrong? Many thanks in advance.

Hi:

Tried to use the AC power, but without the battery, and see if you have the
same problem. If still fails again in the way, it could be a part called the
power converter, but not sure at this stage.

What brand and model laptop do you have? Still on warranty? Did you call the
manufacturer?

Thanks for reply,

I have tried the AC Power without battery, but still the same result.
My laptop is a Dell (but not on the list for recall of battery).
already out of warranty.

Hi:

I would do the following:

-Try, just in case and if you have the chance, with a different AC power.
-Call Dell and ask them if they can provide you with a quote and make your
mind if it is worth to fix it or get a new one.
-Try a local computer workshop, if they can fix it with some warranty. My
friends experience with this kind of fixing it is not good, but you never
know. 8-)

I think the main problem will be to find the spare part, althought in ebay,
you can find aprts for Dell machines.
