Hi !

I own a Compaq Armada E500 laptop comptuer which needs a replacement
battery. My current battery is part no: 261449-001, 14.4v 3.92AHr

It is indicated on the battery to replace with Compaq p/n 246264-001

While searching on eBay and other similar places, I often see part no
159524-001 offered as a replacement for Compaq 246264-001 or listed as
"Compatible with Armada E500 series"

But that battery has a 11.1v, 4.8Ahr output rating.

Is it safe to use a battery which rates these differences from the one
I currently use ?

Thanks

No, you need same voltage. Sometimes newer battery
technology means it would have a higher amp hour capacity
but the voltage should be the same.
