I have an old laptop with a cracked screen (although I can still see data on it) and a dysfunctional keyboard. However it's hard drive is good and runs well. How can I use this as an external hard drive to back up my data from my existing laptop rather than buying a separate hard drive to do so?

you will need to first remove the drive from your laptop. then you will need to buy a laptop hard drive external enclosure. hook everything up and then plug it in via usb to your current laptop:thumb:
