I have a Gateway laptop running XP home version. Cable modem and linksys router (not wireless) I have access to the internet through cat5 cable. I have run network wizard several time to create a home network. Tried it with/without firewall setting. After I run wizard i get the message that my network has been successfuly set up and if i would like to make a wizard disk to run on othe comp. I select to close wizard and when I open my network places, the is no access to my shared folders. My sharing is turned on for these folders. I have run wizard on a desktop in the same system and it works fine. I do not see the laptop when I look under network places on the desktop. Please help

I have the same problem, mine was working until they hooked up the cable modem...now nothing is being shared and I have tried every fix possible. I know this is of no help to you, but if you find an answer pass it on to me. thanks

Hi. I'm having the same problem on my desktop. Cat 5 cable to Belkin Gateway Router for broadband internet access and none of my shared resources show up on My Network Places. If someone figures it out I sure would appreciate your help.
