Hello,

Is there a way to reinstall a missing server service on a Windows 2000 Sp4
workstation. I believe the lanmanserver registry key got corrupted on one of
my machines and I can't map and drives to it in my small workgroup network.

Regards,

Duha

(This is off-topic in this group, anyway:)

You may try this:
Open Network Connections, right-click on one of the connections and
select properties. Select Client for Microsoft Networks and click
Uninstall, confirm with a Yes. When done, click Ok.
Now, right-click on the connection again and select properties and then
click Install, Select Client, Add and select Client for Microsoft
Network and Ok.

Your suggestion will delete and recreate "lanmanworkstation" service but
oddly not the "lanmanserver" service.

Sorry for I miss posted, I will post this request in the appropriate group.

Thanks again.

That is completely right, I missed that it was about the server service,
my fault. Then you may try to delete and reinstall the "File and Printer
sharing for Microsoft networks" instead.
