LanMan service stalls

I am using RC1 and having trouble with startup. Booting the computer takes
more than 10 minutes. Fortunately I am able to crank up Task Manager in that
time, where I noticed that the 'server' service is stalling for a long time
before it loads. I confirmed this by disabling the service, after which the
computer starts up normally.
I haven't seen any reports in these newsgroups about this issue.
Any idea what might be the cause of this?

I'm just gonna start guessing at this one:
1) Is your NIC card compatible with Vista? Do you have the appropriate
Vista drivers?
2) Can you upgrade to RC2? There were a lot of fixes included in it.
3) Have you tried resetting your network stack? (lot's of ways to do this -
but the easiest is to delete your network connection and the device that it
uses. Then reboot to let it be redetected and resetup your network).
4) Have you checked the dependencies for the LanMan service? Have you
ensured that the Server and Workstation services are set to automatic (this
is an XP fix - I don't have Vista running at this time).
5) Could you be infected with a virus or spyware?

Good luck!
