Guys, I have tried all the help files etc etc but nothing can point me in the
right direction can you help? I have been using FP2003 very well for several
months now but all of a sudden whenever i try to spell check a particular
page it says "Cant find the spell check for Welsh" I dont want it to find the
spell check for Welsh! I didnt ask it to! I have tried looking through all
the options pages for language etc and they all say either Europeon or
British or English... no mention of flipping Welsh! Strange thing though if i
run spell check on the folders list it works ok!?! It is just from within the
page itself....... Help please.

can you copy and paste the content at the top of one of these offending
pages?
(just the stuff in "code view" from the very top of the page to the </head>
tag)

Hi Chris, I did the detect and repair thing and it went through the process.
It didnt work. I created a new page and put some text on it and tried spell
checking but it came up with FP couldnt find spellcheck for Welsh.... funny
thing is when I saved it closed it and opened it again..... I could spell
check in English.... strange huh?? Any other idea's?

Chris.

I don't have any other ideas. I've never heard of it before.

Hopefully someone else will have something.

Long shot...see what you have Word's spell check set for.
Tools | Language | Set Language..something like that. I believe FP shares
Word's dictionary....maybe sumpin' kaflooey there.

Rob, I think you may have something here.... when I open a new doc in word it
sets the default language to Welsh..... Now I have tried the detect and
repair thing again.. but no luck. I have tried to delete the "Normal.dot"
template but everytime Icreate a new doc it still says default language Welsh
even though I change it to English (UK). ???

Any other good idea's.... thanks buddy.

Chris.

YW... I'm kinda new on oofice 2003 so I'm not sure at this point where the
language adjustment would need to be made.

What is the language setting for your computer?

Thomas and Rob thanks guys for your help between you you have solved the
problem. Somehow or another although the language was set to English in the
Regional settings under speech thing, which i dont use , Welsh was
highlighted!!! I have now deleted everything to do with Welsh that I can
find!!

Thanks once again.

Chris.

YW...glad you got it figured out.

welsh, and i dont appear to be able to correct it via the speech thing since
that isnt installed, anyone got any ideas how to get rid of the welsh spell
check in novice terminology please?!!
