I've installed MSN 6.0, and I've just tried launching
those sites and play games with my friends. Weird thing
is, although I've downloaded the English version of MSN
6.0, a Chinese version of games are loaded. I suspect
this has something to do with my being in Hong Kong. Is
there anything I can do to play the games in English?

Thanks Jonathan... I've tried setting the region to
Singapore and US, but even after i restarted MSN 6, the
list of games that pops up when i click "launch site" is
still in Chinese, and so is the game. Any ideas why?

Greetings Colleen,

It bases the "language" of the games on your .NET
Passport regional settings. To set them to

Hi Colleen,

You can manually edit your ConfigCache.xml file (which controls all of this) to 'force' it to
English. To do so, firstly close MSN Messenger (right-click its icon in the notification
area/system tray, by the clock and then choose Exit). Then, click Start, then Run, type:
Notepad
and then click OK.

Then in Notepad, click File, then Open, type:
%APPDATA%\Microsoft\MSN Messenger
and then click Open.

Then, change the Files of type to All Files. You then should see a folder or some folders
with random numbers. If you have more then one folder, you'll have to do the following for
each. Go into the folder, then double click on ConfigCache to open it.

Scroll down to the bottom of the file and look for the <AppDirPageURL> element. You'll see
something under it that should appear something like this:
http://appdirectory.messenger.msn.com/AppDirectory/Directory.aspx?L=en-us
(Your L= will be equal to something else)
Change your L= to en-us (as in the above link), then Save the file in Notepad and restart
Messenger.
