Hi all,

I have made a PPT template (PPT 2000) to be used for a
couple of countries. In the actual template I therefore
chose to make all text boxes with "No proofing".

When a person in Spain wants to use the template he has to
select every textbox in the entire template document (10
pages) and indivudually change the language setting to
Spanish. This seems like an awfully time-consuming way. Is
there no other way to transform a template document to
another language?

He also has presentations with other templates that needs
to be converted into my template and also change the
language setting on these.

Any tip?

Hello EvaS,

What do you mean by making all text boxes "no proofing".

Have you (and your counterparts) installed the
MultiLanguage Pack? It's included as part of the Office
2000 Resource Kit. If you search on help in PowerPoint
2000 and enter language as your key word, it will give you
the answers you need.

You might also want to check out this site:
Create or Customize Templates
http://www.rdpslides.com/pptfaq/FAQ00313.htm

You may be more successful by making the changes in the
template Master instead of all the text boxes. But if
you're presentation is constructed using layouts, you
should be able to select all the text in the outline pane
at once and make the change.

Hi Eva,

Although there is no way (without programming) to accomplish this task
quickly, Microsoft has provided sample code in our knowledgebase of support
articles that you can use to quickly change the language setting of all
text in a presentation from one language to another language.

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;245468&Product=ppt

Of course, If you (or anyone else reading this message) feel strongly that
PowerPoint should make it easier to change the language setting for all
text in a presentation (without having to resort to the use of VBA or
add-ins), don't forget to send your feedback to Microsoft at:

http://register.microsoft.com/mswish/suggestion.asp

As with all product suggestions, it's important that you not just state
your wish but also why it is important to you that your product suggestion
be implemented by Microsoft. Microsoft receives thousands of product
suggestions every day and we read each one but, in any given product
development cycle, there are only sufficient resources to address the ones
that are most important to our customers so take the extra time to state
your case as clearly and completely as possible. Each submission should be
a single suggestion (not a list of suggestions).
