language bar won't show

I use several different languages. I have them installed on my old
machine. I have bought a new computer and went through the exact same
routine (control panel - language and regional options - languages -
details - language bar) The languages are correctly installed but the
language bar will not show. Right-clicking on the task bar just brings
up the usual menu (toolbards etc...) I'm running Win XP, Media Center
Edition

Any/all help is greatly appreciated

Hi,

did you enable the language toolbar?

In Regional and Language settings goto the Languages Tab and click DETAILS.
The TEXT SERVICES AND INPUT LANGUAGES applet will open. At the bottom, click
the Language Bar button and check the "Show the Language Bar on the desktop".

When the language bar is running you will have an extra process in the task
manager called "CTFMON.exe" if you disable this startup process you have to
enable the bar again in control panel.

Good Luck.
