I am using a Windows 2000 professional machine on a NT
network, with a HP 4050N network printer. On one this
particular machine I can't print landscape and when I try
to print an envelope the print stays in the portrait
format, will not turn to fit the envelope in Corel 10. Any
help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks
John

A client of mine has this same problem. Running Win2K on a network to a
Win2K Server acting as a Print Server (among other things). An HP G85 is
connected via parallel port and is shared.

We tried installing the latest Service Packs on the workstation and server,
installing the latest G85 printer drivers, going back to earlier drivers...
nothing helped.

When printing in Landscape mode (either by making a global setting from the
Properties page of the printer object or by changing the Page Layout in
*any* MS Application for that document, or by making a change to the
printer settings from the Properties button on the File, Print... dialog
window), the output is NOT landscape and even worse, is stretched
vertically and compressed horizontally - as if it was printed landscape but
then the paper was stretched from 8.5" to 11" and squezzed from 11" to
8.5".

The problem has not yet been resolved.

If using the PCL 6 drivers, create Quick Sets on the
print server. One for Landscape and one for portrait.

Open the properties for the printer, make any changes
necessary and give the quick set a name then click save.

Users do not have to use the quick set (they can select
landscape the "normal" way). This has resolved the
problem with all our print servers.
