I've got a local desktop printer that I've never had a problem printing from. But I am trying to print slides
from a powerpoint presentation and no matter how I set them to landscape, they print in portrait. I'v
checked the printer orientation, the page setup, etc. My word documents print landscape correctly.
I recently installed 2003 and wondered if this is a glitch and I need to re-install, but here's the kicker
they print correctly on a b/w network printer.....so that would make me think it was the printer, but m
word prints fine on the printer.....I am at a loss - any suggestions what to check or troubleshoot?

Try to place them in Word or Excel, resize the slides to
your need, then print. Probably a lot of work...

[CRITICAL UPDATE - Anyone using Office 2003 should install the critical
update as soon as possible. From PowerPoint, choose "Help -> Check for
Updates".]

Hello,

PowerPoint 2002 and 2003 changes the way PowerPoint sends print information
to the printer driver. Certain unsigned printer drivers do not interpret
this information correctly, and use the current default driver orientation.

In each case reported to Microsoft so far, Microsoft has not signed the
printer driver in question. Driver signing is a process in which Microsoft
certifies that a driver works properly with Microsoft Windows.
