I have tried three different cable routers in the last
week, and none of them will work. I tried a D-Link, a
Linksys, and now a SMC. I can`t get any of them to work,
even with the firmware upgrades. I was told my a
technician at SMC that my Lancity cable modem is
incompatible with all these routers. do you know of any
routers that ARE compatible with a Lancity Lcpet-3 cable
modem...or is there software I can get for either, to get
this to work??
My internet provider( Rogers) won`t help.
Thanks,
Gary

"I was told my a technician at SMC that my Lancity cable modem is

That doesn't make any sense at all.

If you are getting connectivity when the modem is plugged directly into your
PC, then try cloning that MAC to the WAN side of the router.

Ok....how do I do that?
I do recall seeing something about cloning on the web
setup for the router. Where do I go from there?
Thanks for any help.
Gary
