:thumb:I live near Headcorn aerodrome well about 4 miles and we had the rare view of the last two flying Lancaster bombers and two spitfires escorts doing a display at Headcorn airfield as they have a military display there.

I like 50,000+ others saw the display at the Eastbourne Airshow today.
The Battle of Briton Memorial Flight & The Red Arrows stole the show.

Nice to see ... wasn't long ago the RAF were seriously talking about grounding our one remaining Lanc due to the ever increasing wear-n-tear on the aircraft.

I been up and close on many occasion in the past. Hope they can keep going for a long time yet. :)

Must have been great to see and hear those wonderful old 'planes. Lucky fellows Bootneck and Exmoor. :thumb:

Count me in as i was at Eastbourne Airshow too.
The Spitfire Ale was good, food over priced & the BBMF & Red Arrows the star of the show.
Sorry no camera taken but you tube is your friend!

I as a little boy was taken to Hawkinge airfield on Battle Of Britain Day must have been 1950/1 and they were not celebrating it as it at that time was not a fighter station and only one aircraft which was a Wellington bomber which was employed to tow a sock so that the coastal ack ack guns could have target practice. Any way as I disappointed at them not celebrating Battle of Britain day the pilot and a couple of the crew said I could go and play tail end Charlie. I can remember being shut in the rear turret after being shown how to turn left and right and they took off and we had a flight along the coast and back a flight of about 20 min this was fantastic for a little boy of about 5 or six. I cannot that happening now
