LAN testing

Hello

Does anyone have any recommendations about network testing software. I mean
testing transfer speeds in LAN and in windows environment.

Preferably free software ;-)

I don't know if any specific packages for this type of software but a quick search on Google will get you a ton of links for this stuff.
