LAN problems

I have two computers running XP home on a LAN. The
secondary computer accesses the internet through the
primary one. Recently, I had some problems on the
primary computer, which required removing the Blaster
worm/virus, reinstalling Norton, and downloading several
Windows updates.

Since then, I cannot access the internet through the
second computer. However, both computers are registering
on the network, and the second computer even reads that
there is an internet connection.

I tried repairing the connection, and on the primary
computer I was told that the repair process stopped
because it could not "flush the ARP cache." Any idea
what to do about this? Do you think this could be the
problem?

I also tried to bridge the connection between the two
computers and was told that you can't bridge two
computers that have firewalls or that are using ICS.
What does this mean?

If neither of these is the problem, what is it?

Thanks.

One additional factor I forgot to mention. After removing
Blaster and all the other stuff, I enabled an ICF on the
primary computer, according to Microsoft's instructions.
I thought that might be the problem with the network, so I
disabled it, but the network is still not working.
