Thanks for the link to
But I still can't get to the internet from my laptop (ICS client)
through my desktop (ICS HOST), the desktop has the USB ADSL modem
attached to it.
I can ping the desktop from the laptop and move files between the two
systems but I just can't get any internet access from the laptop
Does anyone have any clues?
If ipconfig on the Desktop (HOST) I get
Windows 2000 IP Configuration

This all seems in order, yes?
Richard Lin gave me this advice
'after enabling the ICS on the connection you wanna share,
then goto RRAS (my computer >manage> RRAS ) to enable IP
routing for connection sharing.'
but I cant find the RRAS in the device manager of the control panel in
My computer and there is nothing in my computer called manager.
I would appreciate any help, as a student teacher I can't afford to but
a router just yet.
I assume I can use ICS with a USB ADSL modem on win2k prof!
Thanks
