Lan Icon On Status Bar

Can't get this to appear on my status bar. It used to and I checked
the box to make it show but it doesn't appear?

Try this: Click Start >> Control Panel >> Double click Network and Internet
connections >> Double click Network Connections.
There on the LAN or the Wireless Icon right click and select Properties, on
the
Properties under general tab there two Check boxes at the Bottom of the
window:
[ ] Show Icon in Notification area when connected
[ ] Show Icon on Notification area when there is limited or no
Connectivity .
Uncheck those two boxes and click [OK].
Does this help.

Or right click the Start Button select properties then click on Taskbar tab
, click on Hide Inactive Icons and there select always show for the LAN.

Unchecking the boxes does nothing, I can't get Icon with or without
boxes checked.

As for always show LAN, it's not an option because it only lists those
items appearing on the status bar and since the network icon isn't no
way to click always show for Lan.

Unchecking the boxes disables them from showing when connected or reporting when
there is limited or no connection.
As for always show LAN, it's not an option because it only lists those

It should also have a list of Past Items.
