In a school LAN (Win 98, SE), we were able to share files
with little trouble. Since upgrading to WIN 2000, the
process (according to our technical support person) file
sharing requires not only noting the files that may be
shared, but also designating every computer that is
allowed to share.
Basically, these computers are in an educational lab
setting and should have no sensitve files on them; file
security is of little concern. We often need to share data
files for exercises and it s now SO much more difficult.
