I run Win2K-Pro from home through a 56K modem with a
Kerio firewall and the only protocol on my dialup
config is TCP/IP. However, I have a network card to
plug my laptop and a Win98 box into and they are
*never* connected when dialing out.
The LAN config has the full bottle, Client for MS Net,
File & Printer sharing, NetBEUI and TCP/IP, not too
sure now why all of them are there, file and printer
sharing are essential when said boxen are connected.!
Should I log into my admin account first and disable
the LAN via the control panel dialup & LAN settings
before going onto the net or rely on Kerio.?
There is a security "information overload" out there
and with some justification, but it is difficult to
determine what is reasonable.
Advice & help appreciated.
